Krist Larsen
January 20, 1931 — June 29, 2016
Krist K. Larsen, 85, long time resident of Algonquin, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2016. He was born on January 20, 1931 in Elgin, IL to Peter and Marie Larsen.
Krist was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served during the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150 for over 50 years as well as a member of Congregational Church of Algonquin. Krist greatly enjoyed John Deere Tractors and was part of the North Eastern Illinois Two Cylinder Club.
Krist will be deeply missed by his children, Michael (Debbie) Larsen of Marco Island, FL, Susan Larsen McGrath of Genoa IL, Debra (Peter) Anagnos of Wyoming, MN, Dave (Diane) Tuegel of Palatine, IL; grandchildren, Gina and Peter Larsen, Melissa (Scott) Pekar, Mollie and Joe McGrath, Amy Anagnos, Jennifer (Philippe) Mukubi, Lindsay (Bryce) Mertes, Courtney Tuegel; great-granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Ruth (the late Harold) Zimmick and Evelyn (the late William) Hitzmann. Many loving nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Janet (nee Samuelson) Larsen, his brother Herbert, and by his parents.
Memorial Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, 2016, from 9 AM until the 11:30 AM memorial service at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Inurnment will take place following the service at Algonquin Cemetery, Algonquin, IL.
