Lamont T. Gralapp, 79, of Crystal Lake, passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home. He was born February 12, 1933, in LeMars, Iowa to the late Floyd and Margaret "Lucille" (nee Carol) Gralapp. He married Joanne Tromm on April 26, 1958, in St. Patrick's Church, McHenry.
Mr. Gralapp started Gralapp Concrete in 1968 and retired in 1989. He also served in the US Army from 1953-1955, working in early radar detection.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, survivors include his daughters, Cindy Gralapp of Arlington Heights and Gail (Raymond "Jay" III) Santeler of Palatine; granddaughter, Eileen Santeler of Boston; sister-in-law, Margaret (Philip) Matuscak of Lyman, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlys (Paul) Nacke and sister-in-law, Gladys (Charles) Knaack.
The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, November 29, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Transfer prayers will be said at 9:15 a.m., Friday, November 30 at the funeral home followed by a procession to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake for a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery.
