Larry "LT" Reimer, 73, of Woodstock, Illinois, passed away on December 30, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1951, in Woodstock, IL, to the late Walter and Lorraine Reimer.
Larry graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1969, and in 1971, he proudly joined the United States Air Force, where he served until 1974. After returning home, Larry worked for McGill Metal Products and then for Aubrey Manufacturing for many years, where he made life long friends.
On February 23, 1980, Larry married the love of his life, Cheryl Nelson, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Crystal Lake. Together, they celebrated 44 beautiful years of marriage and were blessed with one son and further blessed with two grandsons.
Larry was a true sports enthusiast, with a particular passion for baseball and softball. A die-hard Cubs fan, he followed the team through thick and thin and delighted in finally seeing them win the World Series in 2016. In addition to his love for sports, Larry was an avid fisherman who enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether on a quiet lake or by the river, always seeking out the perfect catch. He also owned and loved many dogs over the years, with Rasta and Marley holding special places in his heart.
Above all, Larry treasured the time spent with his family. He adored his son and two grandsons, cherishing every moment he could share with them. His love for his family was his greatest joy, and he will be remembered as a devoted and caring father, grandfather, and husband.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; son, Zac (Kelsey) Reimer; grandsons, JZ and Ziggy Reimer; his brother, Roger (Carmen) Reimer; his sister in law, Linda Reimer and brothers in law, Denny (Connie) Nelson, Mark (Mattie) Nelson and Bill (Gwen) Evans; and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard on 7/12/24 and an infant brother, James.
The family thanks Dr. Yasmeen Hasan for her many years of loving care for Larry. They also thank Journey Care for their special care for Larry these past few weeks.
