Larry Edward Williams, 74, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2020 at home surrounded by family. He was born on April 2, 1946 in Chicago to DeWayne and Marjorie (nee Overton) Williams.
Larry started his career in the fastener industry at the family owned Safety Socket Screw Company and continued to work in the fastener industry until he retired in 2013. Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting with his dogs, fishing on Stormy Lake and playing golf anywhere he could.
He will also be remembered for coaching both of his kids’ sports teams. He continued this love for sports by attending and cheering on his grandchildren in their sports and activities as well.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Patricia, whom he was married to for 49 years of wedded bliss. Larry and Patricia were longtime residents of Palatine, IL and then moved to Cary in 2013. He is also survived by his two children, Nichole (Steve) and Neil (Gina); his grandchildren, Brian, Kelly, Claire and Ethan; and his two sisters, Pat and Judy.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21, 2021 from 5-8pm with military honors performed at 6pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Crystal Lake.
