Laura Ann Bonavia Ingrassia went to be with her Divine Savior on July 15, 2021. She was born in Nora, Illinois October 1, 1916, the daughter of Vito Bonavia and Rose Cipolla. She attended Coyne Business College in Chicago and worked in finance and office management. She completed her career working in her family’s dental office. She married Joseph Ingrassia on June 22, 1937 and together they had five daughters; Maryjo (late Eugene) Leonard, Jeani (Thomas) Allaway, Joeni (late Bob) Parks, Roseann (Thomas) Hoffman, and Margaret (Edward) Sweeney.
She enjoyed her retirement playing bridge and spending time with her daughters and their families. In her 90’s she was a member of her condominium Board of Directors. Her final years were spent as everyone’s dear friend at Sunrise Assisted Living in Barrington, IL.
She is survived by her daughters; sister, Lucille Giovingo; 25 grandchildren; and 68 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; a sister; granddaughter, Michelle Allaway; and her sons-in-law, Eugene Leonard, Bob Parks, and Joseph Sweeney.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11am, Wednesday, July 21 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington. There will be visitation at the church from 9am with mass commencing at 11am. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Sarcoma Foundation of America in memory of Joseph Sweeney, 9899 Main St. #204, Damascus, MD 20872.
