Barrington, Illinois,The funeral service for Lavern W. "Ray" Rehberg, 88, formerly of Crystal Lake, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 26, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake. Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park in Cary. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, August 25, at the funeral home. Born April 20 1922, in Crystal Lake, he passed away Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Mr. Rehberg served as an Army Staff Sergeant in the China Burma India Theater during World War II. After his military service, he began driving truck for Stuart Brothers in Barrington and went to retire from Boncosky Transportation in Crystal Lake. He was a member of the Barrington American Legion Post 158, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, and he enjoyed fishing, traveling, and many years of retirement. Survivors include his daughters, LaVon Rehberg of Barrington and Reana (Ronald) Reher of Crystal Lake; grandson, Eric Reher of Crystal Lake; brother, Roger (Joyce) Rehberg of Jacksonville, IL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Alice (nee Jurs), who died in 2007; parents Herman and Emma (nee Pinnow) Rehberg; and siblings, Ruth, Helen, Violet, Dick, and Herman. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Rehberg?s name may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N.
