Lawrence Joseph Lolli, age 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 16, 2022.
Larry was born on July 17, 1935 in Chicago, IL. He was a proud graduate of Fenwick High School and received his bachelor’s degree from DePaul University. He honorably served his country as a member of the Army. In 1959, he married the love of his life, Phyllis. They were married for 61 years before she preceded him in death. Larry was a successful, hardworking businessman, having owned a successful property management company and worked in real estate his entire career. He never met a stranger he couldn’t converse with.
Larry loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a fixture at all of his grandchildren’s various events and enjoyed cheering them on. He was an amateur chef and loved hosting and cooking Sunday breakfasts and dinners with his entire family. He also enjoyed celebrating time with his family, especially at his favorite restaurant, Gibson’s. Larry was known for teaching his great grandchildren to sing “Barbara Ann” (which later became his nickname), as well as making up his own songs. Larry reveled in being the family’s resident Santa Claus every year.
Larry enjoyed taking long car rides, and spending time at the family’s vacation home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Even after retirement, he volunteered his time on an association board, providing his years of experience with property management.
Larry is survived by his loving children, Lisa (William) Becker, Lori (Robert) Booker, and Jeffrey (Janet) Lolli; grandchildren, Kate (Timothy) Olson, Brittney (Donald) Sweeney, Tyler Booker, Connor Booker, and Taylor Lolli, Brandon Lolli, and Madison Lolli; great-grandchildren, Reese Olson, Trevor Olson, Mason Sweeney, and Maxwell Sweeney; as well as his sister, Paula Lasek.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Lolli; and siblings, Dolores Moroney, Francis Lolli, and Elaine Morris; and his beloved wife, Phyllis.
A visitation for Larry will be held on Sunday March 20, 2022 from 2pm until the time of service at 6pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
