Davenport Lake Zurich

LeRoy “Lee” V. Vincolese, 90, of North Barrington and part-time resident of Three Lakes, WI and Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2021. He was born on November 3, 1930 in Chicago to George and Mary (nee Novelle) Vincolese.

Lee was a Schaumburg pioneer when he opened Colonial Chevrolet - there were just cornfields when businesses were opened. Lee was a past president of the Columbian Club of Chicago, board member of Park Ridge Country Club, member of Lions Club in Prospect Heights, Des Plaines Elk Lodge, Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Ransom, and Eagles of Bonita Springs, FL.

Lee was a prominent auto dealer and real estate investor. He also enjoyed golfing, boating, was an avid snowmobiler and loved dancing, especially with his wife, Sally.

Lee was a lifelong golfer and had the opportunity to play all over the country. He had 2 holes in one in his lifetime. He was an avid sports fan, especially all Chicago teams, and attended the 1985 Super Bowl as a guest of WGN in New Orleans. He played Semi-Pro Baseball for Cragin Reds and was a Bocce champion of Bonita Beach. He enjoyed spending time in Three Lakes, WI and Bonita Springs, FL. Lee enjoyed spending time with friends, following the stock market and listening to music (especially jazz). He enjoyed many recitals, concerts, plays, baseball and soccer games that his grandchildren were in. His gentleness, integrity and honesty, along with his trademark smile exemplified his life. Most of all, Lee’s greatest love was his beautiful “dollinka” Sally and his greatest success was his family, which made him so proud.

Lee will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Sally (nee Shillcutt), with whom he was united in marriage on September 29, 1956 in Chicago; their children, Laura (Vincent) Clemens of Hawthorn Woods, IL and Lee (Kara) Vincolese of Sleepy Hollow, IL; grandchildren, Jaclyn (Jeff) Sanders, Michelle Clemens, James Vincolese, Kristin Clemens and Jason Vincolese; his brother, George (Maryrose) Vincolese; his sister-in-law, Charlotte Borsellino; and by many loving nieces, nephews and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services and entombment will be held privately for Lee’s immediate family.
