Lester C. Talcott went to be with our Lord Nov. 18, 2011. He was born Oct. 6, 1924 in Chicago the son of Lester Sr. and Ann (nee McCloskey) Talcott.Lester proudly served his country in World War II in the US Navy as an Aviation machinist mate, first class, aboard the USS Lexington CV-16.He married his beloved wife of 62 years,Grace Holly Ludford on Jan. 5, 1946.They had three children, Susan, Gary and Cristine.Lester worked at CIT Financial for 24 years as a district manager for several branches in Indiana.In 1974 he joined Amcore Bank in Woodstock, IL as vice president and worked with them for 17 years until he retired as executive vice president in June 1991.He was a man of great faith.He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish where he was an usher for more than 30 years.Lester was an amazing storyteller with a wonderful sense of humor.He enjoyed people and loved to entertain them, he was very much a people person.He was above all a family man.His family was very important to him, his greatest joy was spending time with them.In his younger years he loved fishing, hunting, and was always an avid reader.Lester was preceded in death by his parents, his wife,a daughter Susan Bosse, and sister Bette Frederick.He is survived by his children Cristine (Eddie) May of Crystal Lake, Gary (Denise) Talcott of Hobart IN, son-in-law Bill (Bonnie) Bosse of Crown Point, IN, sister Anne (Ross) Devitt of Warsaw IN, brother in law Bruce Frederick of Hollywood, FL; grandchildren Bradley (Diana) Bosse of Crown Point IN, Kelly (Rob) Cleveringa of Griffith IN, and Julie (Andy) Degnan of Hobart, IN.He is also survived by six great-grandchildren, four nieces, and four nephews.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Northeastern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Road, Barrington IL 60010, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105,www.stjude.org.Visitation will be 8:30am until the time of the Mass at 10a.m. Saturday Nov. 26 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake, IL. Interment will be private.
