Lewis J. Larson passed away peacefully at his home February 11, 2022. He was born December 23, 1931 in Shorter, AL to Melvin and Maye Larson.
Born in Alabama, Lew was ever a Southern gentleman. He was humble and generous, always making sure his friends and family had everything they could need. Lew was a proud veteran of the US Navy, having served on multiple ships, including the USS Eldorado, during the Korean War. Lew loved to travel, particularly to beautiful beaches, to play poker with his buddies, to watch football – especially the Packers and Alabama, and to enjoy a glass of good red wine.
A resident of the village for more than 50 years, Lew will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The private service will be attended by a Navy Honor Guard.
Lew is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda; and children, Layford Larson, Laura Larson, and Amy Lockwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Gregory and Phillip Larson.
Memorial donations may be made in Lewis's name to a charity of your choice.
