Lillian Voss

Lillian Ruth (nee Bedell) Voss, 99, passed away Friday, July 30,2010, at Alden Estates of Barrington, Il. She was born August 27, 1910 in Bethlehem, PA, to the late Lester DeAlton and Clara Anna Simmons Bedell. She was a Lieutenant in the US Army and during WWII she served in Uniontown, PA. and Newport News, VA. Prior to WWII she worked for the state of PA Dept. of labor and she later worked for Lattof Chevrolet for 7 years until retiring. After her retirement she moved to Sarasota, FL and lived there for 25 years. She was an avid bowler in Leagues in Mt Prospect, IL and Sarasota, FL. She is survived by her sons; Harold Joseph (Catherine A.) Voss, Kenneth Lee (Anne) Voss ; three grandchildren; Bethany Carol Voss, Amanda Rose Voss and Andrew Raymond Voss; her sisters; Nettie Minnich and Leora Langon. She was preceded in death by her husband; Harold Joseph Voss; her brothers William Alton Bedell, Bernard Chaninor Bedell and Winston Churchill Bedell; her sister Ethel Newlin. The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, at Davenport Family Funeral Home 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.) Barrington, IL. Burial at a later date will be in the Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago. IL
