Linda Lonigro

Born June 30, 1964 in McHenry to Jean and Harold Walters, passed away peacefully at her home in Crystal Lake, August 10, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was an EMT for the Crystal Lake Fire Department for 10 years. She was a registered nurse in the home healthcare field, and raised eleven foster children from 1999 through 2007. Linda worked for the McHenry County Youth Sports Association, the fifteen year old World Series held in Crystal Lake yearly.

Linda is survived by her husband of 20 years, Richard Lonigro; children, Cody Lonigro and Cassidy Lonigro; step-children, Emily (Dan) Boylan, and Sam (Sabrina) Lonigro; granddaughter Ginger; mother, Jean Nicholson; siblings, Gary (Michele) Mack, Laurel Sweeney, Catherine (David) Schmit, and Lisa (John) Simon; nieces and nephews, Emily, Amanda, Nicholas S.,Kristin,Kyle, Lindsay, Taylor, Justin, Jeremy, Rachel, Ben, Christina, Melissa, Sydney, and Nicholas L.; and grandnieces and nephews Symphony, Cameron, Lily, and Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her father and her nephew, Ryan.

A Celebration of Linda’s life will be held from 1pm until 4pm with a service at 3pm, Saturday, August 16, at Veterans Acres, 431 Walkup Road, Crystal Lake. Inurnment will be private.
