Linda Jean Martin, 74, passed silently in her sleep after a long medical battle on November 7, 2015. She was born in Oak Park, IL in 1941 and currently resided in Hobe Sound, FL.
Daughter of Herb and Doris Peterson, she grew up in Des Plaines, IL and graduated Main High School in 1959. Linda then graduated the University of Illinois in 1963 and was an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. She worked for IMC and the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America.
Married to Bruce Martin in 1964, she was the loving Mother of three children. She loved wine and golf and was an avid bridge player and reader.
Linda is survived by her husband, Bruce; daughters, Tracy (Ralph) LaRosa and Jennifer (Daryl) Pinter; grandchildren, Nick, Danielle, Emily, and Jacob; and brother, Jack (Arlene) Peterson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Scott.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 11th, from 4 pm – 8 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (Rte 176), Crystal Lake. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10 am until the time of the funeral at 11 am at the funeral home.
