Linda McSweeney
July 25, 1944 — March 28, 2017
Born July 25, 1944, the daughter of the late George and Marion (nee Strong) Payne, Linda passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in Barrington.
Linda had a passion for being on the water; she loved spending time boating on Lake Michigan so much so she was fondly known by many as ‘Captain Linda.’ She also had a love for her many animal companions. Additionally, she enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Above all, Linda will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her love of life, and outgoing spirit.
In addition to her husband, Bill, Linda is survived by her daughters, Kristina McSweeney, Susie McSweeney, Julie McSweeney, and Kelley (Mike) Shippel; her grandchildren, Megan, Sarah, Jake, and Jack; and her grand-dog, Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sharon.
Friends may visit with Linda’s family on Friday, March 31, beginning at 10 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 AM at Lutheran Church of the Atonement, 909 E Main St, Barrington.
