Lois Trowbridge Hunt Brockman
Trowby passed away on November 19, 2018 in Barrington, Illinois. She was born in Watertown, Connecticut on February 7, 1948 to Lois Macken Hunt and Richard Mackay Hunt. She was a graduate of St. Margaret’s School in Waterbury, Connecticut, studied at Skidmore College and graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years Dan B. Brockman, children Richard Maddox Combs (Heather) and Katherine Powell, Noland Combs, stepson James Andrew Brockman and grandchildren Declan Hunter Combs, Phoebe Eliza Combs, Jonah Philip Brockman and Soren Daniel Brockman.

Preceded in death by her parents and stepson Mark Reynolds Brockman.

Trowby was an executive with Kemper Insurance in Quincy, Massachusetts and Long Grove, Illinois for 26 years. Before and after her retirement she was active as President of the Barrington Area Arts Council and recipient of the Flo Bash Award, President of Barrington Area Professional Women, and Countryside Garden Class of Barrington, helped create and operate Barrington Chapter National Alliance on Mental Illness and served on the Board and President of Condominium One at Lake Barrington Shores.

She was a member of the Union League Club of Chicago, Alumni Club of St. Margaret’s School and Barrington Area Council On Aging. She and her family lived in the Barrington area since 1986.

Services were private.

Memorial donations in her name may be made to local non-profit organizations including Veterans of Lake Barrington Shores.
