Born April 1, 1931 in Oak Park, IL, passed away peacefully November 25, 2014 in Arlington Heights surrounded by her loving family.
Lois was a caring and loving person who touched many lives. She had the uncommon ability to truly listen to others, whether this was as a mother, supportive spouse, or in the workplace. Lois enjoyed planning the landscaping of her yard and the frequent weekend travel adventures she shared with her
husband, Bill.
Lois is survived by her children; John (Cathy) Chapman, and Ann (Richard) Lewis, grandchildren; Luke and Joshua Chapman, and sister Joan Schroeter, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband William in 2013, and her parents Viola and Henry Gitzel.
Visitation will be held from 3pm until 7pm Friday, November 28 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St (Lake-Cook), Barrington. Funeral services will be at 10am Saturday, November 29 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 720 Dundee Ave, Barrington, where there will be visitation held one hour prior to the service, at the church. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Chicago Botanic Garden, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.
