Lorraine was a loving, caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great -great grandmother. In addition, she enjoyed a successful career as a realtor. During her retirement years, she divided her time between Mesa, Arizona and Palatine, IL. Some of her greatest pleasures were the adventure of travel, classical music, theater, books, and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her children, Diane Korczynski, Lynn Zarka, Deborah (Mike) Fragale, and Gale (Jeff) Ross; her grandchildren, Ediane Sprague, Kimberly Boersma, Elizabeth (Jack) Haak, Bethanie Lochman, Megan (Kevin) Gow, JP (Antje) Zarka, Jeanine (Mark Rashkow) Fragale, Lesley (Joe) Allen, John (Izabel) Ross, James Ross, and Michael Ross; her twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her step children, Karen (Robert) Deck, and Janet (Donald) Deck; eleven step grandchildren and twenty-seven step great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Gino DiFlavio; her second husband, Herbert Lense; her grandson, Jason Zarka; her step children, Harold (Millie) Nero, and Norville (Lynn) Nero; and her parents.
Despite being nearly blind in later years, Lorraine never let that hold her back. She always said that she lived her life to the fullest and had no regrets. Her strong independent spirit and her love of life and learning will continue to be an inspiration to all that knew and loved her.
The celebration of her life will take place from 3pm -7pm Sunday, December 9 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 941 S. Old Rand Road, Lake Zurich.
