Barrington, Illinois,The Mass of Christian Burial for Sr. Lorraine E. Menheer, 77, will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010, at St. Anne Church, 120 N. Ela St. (at the corner of Franklin St.), Barrington, where there will be visitation from 8 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. The celebrants will be Father Bernie Pietrzak, Father Jack Dewes, Father Fred Licciardi, Father Tom Bishop, Father Britto Berchmans, Father Hal Stanger, Father Dennis Stafford and Father James Hurlbert. Burial will be at 9 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010, in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee. In addition, visitations will be held at the church from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 20 with a prayer service at 7 p.m., from 1-8 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010, with wake service at 7 p.m., and from 4-5 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the School Sisters of St. Francis Chapel, 1501 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee, WI, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. A light supper will precede the Mass. Interment 10 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Milwaukee. Born February 4, 1933, in Bristol, Wisconsin to the late Jacob and Elizabeth (nee Voelkering) Menheer, she peacefully passed away Saturday, April 17, 2010, at her home. Sr. Lorraine, a School Sister of St. Francis, ministered at St. Anne Parish for 44 years. She was principal of St. Anne School from 1966-1984. From 1984 to the present, as Pastoral minister, she was founderess and director of Project Hope, which ministered to the poor in the area. Sister Lorraine recently celebrated her 60th anniversary as a School Sister of St. Francis. In addition to her School Sisters of St. Francis and St. Anne families, she is survived by a brother-in-law, two sister-in-laws, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and many friends.
