Louis J. Link, Sr., 93, of Crystal Lake passed away November 2, 2016. He was born in Beloit, WI on July 12, 1923 to George and Emiley (nee Cunningham) Link.
Louis was a veteran of the US Army serving his country in WWII. He completed basic training with the 14th Armored Division, 501st Field Artillery Battalion. Then he transferred to 3180th Signal Battalion before spending 14 months in Okinawa.
He belonged to the Crippled Creek, CO Elks Lodge #316 for over 40 years and was a parishioner at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include his children, Gordon Link, Dennis (Karen) Link, and Louis (Mary) Link, and Cynthia Link; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary.
Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Helen and his son, George.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 6, from 1 pm until the time of a service at 3 pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Rte. 176), Crystal Lake.
