Louis Mohapp
October 26, 1924 — July 19, 2016
Born in 1924 in Chicago to Louis and Mary (nee Kranyecz) Mohapp, Louis passed away surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at the age of 91.
Louis was a proud Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and thrifting, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at his Island Lake home.
Louis was a loving father to Kevin, Patt (Bill) Rummer, Mark, Tom, Dave (Jane), and John (Jackie); cherished grandfather of Jamie, Nikki, Emily, Kelsey, and Matt; beloved uncle to Janice (John) Pietron, John (Barbara) Breitsameter, George (Molly) Breitsameter; and former husband to Dolores Mohapp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene (Frank) Breitsameter, and Doris Mohapp.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 22, from 3-8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt 176) Crystal Lake, IL 60014. Visiting will continue the following day, Saturday, July 23 beginning at 8:30 a.m. with prayers being held at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Procession will follow to Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 North First St., Cary, IL 60013 for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be private.
