Lou “Sonny” Svadlenka, 68, of Crystal Lake was born August 29, 1945 in Chicago and passed away of a sudden heart attack Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in McHenry with his loving family at his side.
Active in his community throughout his lifetime, Lou was a member of The Boy Scouts of America, Toastmasters, Illinois League of Cyclists, Junior Achievement and taught religious education. Lou recently retired from IBM after 43 years. He touched many people in the community with his outgoing personality and generous nature. His final kind act of generosity was being a donor for Gift of Hope.
Lou is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cheryl (nee Wiese); children, Stacey Svadlenka, Robert (Lorrie) Svadlenka, and Nikki (Michael) LoPresti; and grandchildren, Sterling and Haylie Anderson and Luke and Annabelle LoPresti.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wanda (nee Bukowiecki) and Edward Svadlenka.
The visitation for Lou will begin at 1pm, Saturday, November 2 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt 176), Crystal Lake with a memorial service at 4pm. Interment will be private.
