Louise was a biologist and retired science teacher, who taught at several schools on Long Island, NY and at the middle school level in Oak Park, IL. She loved children and particularly enjoyed “spoiling” her four grandchildren. Louise was an avid gardener, decorator, and chef who took great pride in her home and cooking. She was also a volunteer at both the St. Anne House of Hope and the St. Anne Resale Shop. She enjoyed seeing the world and experiencing other cultures, traveled to numerous foreign countries, and had been on every continent except for Antarctica.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Maionchi, whom she married February 14, 2004 in Las Vegas; her children, William (Judy) Waas of Naperville, and Jennifer (Michael) Nabong of Woodstock; her grandchildren, Jaxxon and Annie Wass, and Carrera and Ricardo Nabong; her brother, Frederick Bruder; and her great-aunt, Louise Trick.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 2pm until 7pm, Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook), Barrington, IL 60010. The family will be receiving guests from 10am until time of funeral Mass at 11am, Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010. Interment private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Anne’s House of Hope, 120 N. Ela St., Barrington, IL 60010.
