Lourdes “Dette” (Liwanag) Blake

Lourdes Blake (nee Liwanag), age 86, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 21, 2022, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Mandaluyong, Metro Manila, Philippines on April 22, 1936, Lourdes grew up in Mandaluyong and studied dentistry. She practiced dentistry in the Philippines until she emigrated to the United States in the mid-1960s. She lived in Chicago, where she was also a practicing dentist, and became a US citizen in 1974.

Lourdes is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Terrence Blake; loving daughter Karyn (John) Macfarlane; and cherished grandchildren Ian, Vivian, and Graham Macfarlane. Lourdes was preceded in death by her parents, Flaviana (nee Balgos) and Perfecto Santos.

Visitation for Lourdes will be held on Saturday, November 19 from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 N. Ela Street, Barrington, IL.
