Lucille “Pat” Groh (nee Clarke) 96, of Barrington Hills, passed away, February 26, 2015, in Barrington.
She was born on May 26, 1918, in Davenport, Iowa to Harry and Mable (nee Gillooley) Clarke.
Pat was a devoted wife to her husband, Reinhold, for over 60 years and a cherished mother of three. She volunteered her time and energy to a variety of charitable organizations over the years, with an emphasis on helping children and animals. She also enjoyed art and shared her creations with family and friends. Pat was a former member and officer of the Barrington Women’s Club, and also a member of the Barrington Area Historical Society.
Pat is survived by her loving children, Nora Groh McKinley of Lake Forest, IL, Paul (Cathlynn) Groh of Santa Fe, NM and Anne Groh Beckman of Barrington; grandchildren, Anne (John Wickstrom) McKinley of Northbrook, IL and Scott (Molly) McKinley of Gurnee, IL; great-grandchildren, Lila McKinley, and Graham Wickstrom; and many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold Groh, in 2004; son-in-law, D. Scott McKinley; sisters, Marie Nelson, Alice Buckendahl, and Marceline Dolehide; and brothers, Thomas Clarke, and Jack Clarke.
Visitation will be held from 9a.m., until the funeral mass at 11a.m., Monday, March 2, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 120 Ela St. (corner of Franklin and Ela Streets) Barrington, IL 60010.
