Lucyna Milkowska, 85, of Crystal Lake passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019. She was born in Wasosz, Poland on November 11, 1933 to Aleksander and Adolfa (nee Baginska) Mroczkowska.
In 1961 Lucyna married Jan Milkowski in Poland. They immigrated to Chicago in 1985 and later made their home in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Both she and Jan worked at and retired from Dura Life Corporation.
Lucyna will be missed by so many. When coming up with words to describe her, the word strong was used over and over both mentally and physically. She had an incredibly strong work ethic. The Matriarch of her family, Lucyna was looked up to with respect. She instilled in her family the value of hard work and served her family with love.
She was best known for her cooking which she thoroughly enjoyed! Flowers were everywhere inside and out as she loved color and the joy that her back yard garden brought her. Lucyna’s house was filled with all different flowers.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jan; her three children, Ewa (Bogumil) Kopec, Jozef (Beata) Milkowski, and Barbara (Andrzej) Maciorowska; her six grandchildren, Natalia, Mark, Adam, Marlena, Marta, and Ewa; and her great grandson, Lukas.
Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 9, at 11am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S Hubbard St, Algonquin, IL with a time of visitation starting at 10am. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
