Lyle is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Virginia Anderson (née Robson). The two met in high school and were married on June 12, 1953, in Abilene. He is also survived by his children: Brian (Rozan) of Middleton, WI; Karen (Scott) of San Diego, CA; and Eric (Denese) of Crystal Lake, IL; as well as his grandchildren, Megan (Kumar), Jacob, Kristen, Shari (Vikas), and Elissa (Nate).
Lyle earned degrees from the University of Kansas and Butler University. He enjoyed a successful career as a business executive and owner of Autotrol Corp. in Crystal Lake, where he was an integral part of the community. He served on the boards of numerous organizations, including the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association, Centegra Health System, the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Crystal Lake YMCA, and was a founding board member of the Raue Center for the Arts. He was also a longtime member of the Enterprise Club.

He and Virginia traveled extensively, and Lyle’s camera captured breathtaking landscapes and floral scenes that now adorn the walls of many friends and family members. He served as President of the Crystal Lake Camera Club for several years. Beyond photography, Lyle found joy in gardening, playing bridge, and cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks and Chicago Bears.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 14, from 10:30 a.m. until a service at 12:30 p.m., at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
