Lynda Ann (Majikes) Clarkson

Lynda Ann Clarkson, 70, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 18, 2021.  She was born in Chicago on June 5, 1951 to Robert and Orchid (Schild) Majikes.

After graduating high school, Lynda served with the United States Air Force for eight years.  It was here she met her husband, James B. Clarkson.  They were married on April 10, 1972 in Columbus, OH and celebrated 39 years of marriage before his passing on May 13, 2011.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Jeana (Andy) Altman, Jeffrey Clarkson, Amber (Jeremy) Freeland; stepdaughter, Lynn (Bryan) Snider; grandchildren, Luke and Samantha, Cadence and Colton, Kaylie and Kendall; Jessica, Stacey and Bradley; several great grandchildren; and siblings, Debra (Tom) Biagi, Connee (Bob) Hartung, Bobbie (Bill) Geegan, and John (Laura) Majikes. She is further survived by an incredibly loving extended family.

Lyn had a passion for crafting and enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends. She treasured time with her grandchildren and with full hearts they would create projects which she would always describe as masterpieces.  Her “Toadily Handmade” creations brought joy to so many. Lyn implemented many traditions with her family which will carry on for generations to come.

Lyn looked forward to her annual trips to crafting expos with her cherished friends and was always ready for the next adventure.  She made friends everywhere she went and could be counted on to lend a hand.   She was a strong, determined and compassionate woman and will be dearly missed.  She will live on forever in our hearts.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 24, from 2pm until 6pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory.   Mass will be held on Monday morning, October 25, at 10am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
