Lynn Larson

Crystal Lake, Illinois,Lynn Louise Larson, 65, of Crystal Lake, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at her home. She was born May 19, 1945, in Joliet to the late Joseph and Louise (nee Miller) Smith. She married James Larson April 12, 1969, in DeKalb. Mrs. Larson enjoyed raising her daughter, spending time with her grandchildren, Red Hat outings, Bunko nights, road trips, spending time with her son-in-law, Ryan, and his family, and celebrating New Year's Eve with friends. She also enjoyed her co-workers, bowling, golfing, walking, biking, health club classes, home decorating, cooking, movies, and was a passionate gardener. She worked most recently at Crystal Lake Oral Surgery and had previously worked at the DeKalb Theatre, the Department of Education at Northern Illinois University, Motorola, Wiebolts, Spiess, and Power Conversion Products. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Larson is survived by her daughter, Laurel (Ryan) Kenny of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Riley, Harper, and Nolan Kenny; and brother Tom (Paulette) Smith. The visitation will be Friday, January 21, 2011, from 3-8 p.m., at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. (Route 176), Crystal Lake, and Saturday, January 22, 2011, from 10 a.m. until the time of prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave., for an 11 a.m. Mass. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Larson's name may be made to the Northshore University Health System, Neuro Oncology Program, 2650 Ridge Ave., Evanston, IL 60201.
