Mabel Grace (nee Munger) Bulava, 93, found peace in heaven, Saturday, March 28, 2015, in Crystal Lake.
She was born on September 27, 1921 to Herman and Grace Munger, in Chicago.
Leaving behind children, Carol (William) Lapp, Alan (Barbara nee Barwig) Bulava, Donna (Harry) Hollingshead, and Pamela Ehlers, 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Edward and son (Alan) served in the U.S. Army.
Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Edward J. Bulava (1988); her daughter, Donna Hollingshead (2011); sister, Irene Sroka; brother, Walter DeHaven and her parents.
Mabel loved to sing. She and her youngest daughter, Pam sang and laughed to the song Yankee Doodle Dandy. Mabel thought it was funny when Yankee “called it Macaroni”.
In her younger days Mae loved to roller-skate and was very good at it. Mae also enjoyed the quilting group at Redeemer Lutheran church in Woodstock. She loved the Christmas season and sang Christmas songs and hymns all year round.
Visitation will be held from 11a.m., until the funeral service at 12 noon, Tuesday, March 31, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1320 Woodstock Street, Woodstock, IL 60098.
Burial will be held at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, IL 60164, following the funeral service.
