Margot Catherine (Grisius) Jesky, age 102, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 29, 2025.
Margot was born in Neider-Wiltz, Luxembourg on September 9, 1922 and immigrated to the United States with her parents and brothers when she was nine years old. Mom loved to dance and sing (she had a beautiful voice) and play the accordian (she taught herself and played not by reading music but by “ear”). She could play a Polka with the best of them! Mom read a lot abut nutrition and exercise and tried to be as active as possible, which attributed to her longevity. Mom also liked to cook and bake, even in her late 90’s and truly enjoyed making cookies and brownies every golf season for the workers at McHenry Country Club. Mom loved her children and grandchildren and her home in McHenry, her neighbors, and she loved God, was very faithful and often shared her faith with others.
Mom was also an animal lover and loved all her dogs throughout the years, especially Spot and Max.
Margot is survived by her loving children, son, Albert A. (Michelle); grandchildren, Kyle and Keith; daughter, Barbara (Donald) Burda; grandchildren, Heather (Mike); great granddaughter, Maya; son Charles J., son, David J. (Jeanette), grandchildren, David Jr. (Rachel); great grandchildren, Raisa and Rhett; grandson, Joseph (Katherine), great grandchildren, Travis, Kai, Tessa, and Ryan (Kayla); and great granddaughter, Scarlett.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, Frank J. Jesky; her parents, Nicolas and Anna Grisius; and brothers, Rene St. Pierre and Michael Grisius; sisters-in-law, Bernice Woody, Anna Marie Naughton, and brother-in-law, Henry “Hank” Jesky (Joan).
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margot’s name may be made to St. Mary’s Church, McHenry IL; or to Helping Paws Animal Shelter in Woodstock, IL. Interment will be private
