Marcia M. Cassin

Marcia M. Cassin, of Crystal Lake, passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at the age of 75.

She was born November 12, 1946 in Bay City, MI, the daughter of the late John and Phyllis Murray.

Marcia proudly earned a degree from Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, MI.

She loved spending time at her family cottages. She loved her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, art and design, Elvis Presley, and her beloved dogs and cat. Marcia was known for her laugh, positivity and sense of humor to all that knew her. Marcia will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Marcia is survived by her loving husband, Timothy P. Cassin; her beloved son, Christopher Bond; her loving siblings, Judith (Robert) Rollenhagen and Susan (Dan) Larsen; her cherished nieces and nephews, Kathryn (Peter) Hitzeman, Benjamin (Chivon) Rollenhagen, Tobin (Melissa) Rollenhagen, Andrew Larsen and Patrick Larsen; her loving brothers- and sisters-in-law, Michael (Barbara) Cassin, Patrick Cassin, Sharon Cassin-Frame, Sheila (Rick) MacLaughlin, Sean Cassin, Brian (Donna) Cassin, and Kieran (Jeri) Cassin; lifelong friends, Sheila (Michael) Splitt, Nancy (Mark) Guigli, Marie (Jerry) Thrush, Anthony (Jenny) Thrush, and Leslie Backus.

The family would like to thank Family Medicine for McHenry County, Dr. Lesser, and all the loving nurses and staff, Illinois Cancer Specialists, Dr. Zahir and staff, The Oaks Dental, Dr. Kumar and staff, Retinal Health Institute, Dr. Kapur, A Brush with Greatness, and Jeri Hoppe, for the loving care of our dogs, Sophie and Aurora.

The funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1023 McHenry Ave, Crystal Lake.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army; Home of the Sparrow; Mayo Clinic; American Cancer Society; or Young at Heart Senior Pet Adoptions.
