Margaret Ann (Samson) Cuthbertson

Margaret Ann “Margie” (nee Samson) Cuthbertson, 81, of Lake Barrington passed away peacefully on November 9, 2018. She was born on September 9, 1937 in Klaipeda, Lithuania and after several years in Germany, made it to the United States.

She graduated with a BA degree from Georgian Court University in Lakewood New Jersey and had a Clinical Psychology Master’s Degree from Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire. She worked at Catholic Charities in New York and delighted in New York City life.  She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Community in Lake Zurich. Margie was a person who loved people and they loved her. She was very honest and sincere and enjoyed reading, traveling and being a homemaker. She and her husband lived and worked many years in Tokyo, London and Hong Kong. She saw and enjoyed most of Europe, Asia and Australasia. After retirement they lived in New Hampshire, Nevada, Rhode Island and Illinois.

Survivors include her husband, Richard W. Cuthbertson, who she married in August 25, 1962 in Plainfield, New Jersey; children, Craig (Susan McGinnis), Jane (Theodore Groves), and James (Sarah) Cuthbertson; grandchildren, Henry and Will Groves, Phoebe and Margaret Cuthbertson; sister, Karen (David) Brucker.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Margaret (nee Staknis) Samson; and brother, Daniel Samson.

Margie was a very special person and will be deeply missed. Speedy journey Margie!

A Memorial Mass will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, November 21, at St. Frances de Sales, 135 S Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich. Burial will be private at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, NY.
