Margaret Haagen

A celebration of life memorial service for Margaret “Marge” Haagen (nee Arvay), 94, formerly of Munster, IN and Calumet City, IL will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 5, at the Barrington United Methodist Church, 98 Algonquin Rd. (at the intersection of Route 59), Barrington, IL 60010, where there will be memorial visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow the service in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Marge entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 22, 2013.

Marge was an office manager at the former F.G. Cary Construction Co. of Hammond and was a Sister Affectionate within the Masonic Eastern Star, Arcadia Chapter 967 OES.

She was the beloved wife of the late Armon C. Haagen; loving mother of Del (Irena) and Armon L. (Beth Truett) Haagen, and Barb (Ralph Chester) Orosz; proud grandmother of five and great-grandmother of 12; and fond aunt of three nieces and two nephews.

In addition to her husband, Marge was preceded in heaven by her son, Errol J. Haagen; and was the last, surviving member of the Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Arvay family, with her parents, one brother, and five sisters preceding her in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marge’s name may be made to the Barrington United Methodist Church, the Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut St., Chicago, IL 60611, or the Alexian Brothers Hospice Center, 1515 E. Lake St., Ste. 206, Hanover Park, IL 60133.
