Margaret Beverly Looze (nee Goss), 88, longtime resident of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with a cancer recurrence.
Margaret was born on November 28, 1927. She married the love of her life, the late Louis Looze, on December 1, 1945. She was the cherished mother of the late Margaret (Jack) Finholm, Thomas (Kathleen) Looze and Diane (the late David) Salem; the beloved grandmother of Scott (Amy) Finholm, Kristen Finholm, Brandon Finholm, Katie (Robert) Bronk, the late Matthew Looze, the late Daniel Looze, Lauren Salem, Tracie Salem and Christine (Robert) Davis; and the dearest great-grandmother of Lauretta, Sadie, Mackenzie and Jacob.
Margaret and Louis were best friends and partners. She was his closest business confidant and biggest supporter when he opened his own successful business. A devoted teacher for many years at the Bensenville School District, Margaret was very active in her spare time. She enjoyed creating beautiful stained glass art with her husband, as well as swimming at the local YMCA, taking community courses, traveling and reading. Margaret and Louis also were snowbirds in their condo on Sanibel Island, Fla.
Family and friends will gather at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main Street, Barrington, for visitation on Thursday, May 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, 2501 E. Euclid Road, Arlington Heights. Following the services, a celebration of life will be held at Rolling Green Country Club, 2525 E. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
