Margaret "Peg" Mary Sullivan

Peg Sullivan, longtime resident of Crystal Lake, IL passed away peacefully on August 15, 2021 at the age of 92 in McHenry, IL. Peg was born on July 15, 1929 in Oak Park, IL and was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dennis and children Denny and Cathy.

Peg was an only child, which inspired her to become a loving mother of eight children: Peggy (Eric Wichmann) O’Sullivan, the late Denny, the late Cathy, Colleen (Terry) Gilkison, Maureen DeVore, Noreen (Darrell Brock) Sullivan, Dan (Jen) Sullivan and Patrick (Kathleen Wayland) Sullivan and mother-in-law of Juanita Sullivan and Stan Tkacy. She was the adored grandma, grams, nana to 16 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter on the way.

Peg retired from her position as an Administrative Assistant with Zurich Insurance in 1995. She was a devoted lifelong Catholic who enjoyed prayer and meditation, loved her Irish music, wearing green and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with her family. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing word puzzles, but mostly she cherished being around her large loving family. Peg had a true gift for writing poetry. She composed poems, prayers and blessings that were deeply healing for all who received them.

Visitation will be Friday, August 20, 2021 from 4 PM until 8 PM at Davenport Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave. Crystal Lake, IL. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 9 AM until prayers at 10 AM. Procession to follow to St Thomas the Apostle, 451 W. Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, for a funeral mass at 10:30 AM. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Richmond. Please meet at the cemetery by 12:30 PM.
