Maria P. Bourlokas, 88, of Algonquin, passed away May 11, 2022. She was born in Valtetsi (Arcadia) Greece on February 27, 1934, to Demos and Angeliki (Mellos) Eikosipentarchos.
In 1953, Maria married Panos Bourlokas in Greece. They moved their whole family including their five children to Chicago in 1967. He preceded her in death in 2003.
Maria is survived by her children, Helen (George) Gikas, Angela Bourlokas, John Bourlokas, Demos (Theodora) Bourlokas, and Francine (George) Kastanis; grandchildren, Diana Stratakos, Alex (Demetra) Stratakos, Angela (Hal) Binyon, Pete, John and Maria Gikas, James, Peter (Georgiana) Kastanis, Kristen (Joe) Perricone, Maria (John) Trejo, and Peter Bourlokas; great grandchildren, Angelina, Vasiliea, Francesca, and Theodora; brother, John (Helen) Archos; and sisters-in-law, Demetra Archos, Eugenia Archos, Frederiki, and Irini Bourlokas. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, May 16, from 10:00am until a mass at 11:00am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 525 Church Rd, Elgin. Burial will follow at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
