Maria Kolmar

Maria Kolmar (née Neuhaus), 88, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025, entering into her eternal reward.

Maria was born on August 29, 1936, in Yugoslavia to Theresa and Georg Neuhaus. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Kolmar. They were united in holy matrimony on January 22, 1955, and shared 65 wonderful years together.

Maria and Frank lovingly raised two children, George (Paulette) and Mary Huellen (Juergen). She was a devoted grandmother to Christopher, Kara, Eileen (Ryan), Adam, and Kaitlin (Nicolas), and a cherished great-grandmother.

Maria was an exceptional homemaker who found joy in cooking and baking. She had a deep love for crafting, excelling in ceramics and crocheting, and took great pride in her beautiful flower garden and rose bushes. She and Frank shared a passion for travel, enjoying eight cruises together during their early retirement. Above all, Maria treasured time spent with her family, especially during the holidays. She was a gracious hostess who welcomed loved ones into her home with warmth and joy.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, from 10:00am until the time of a mass at 11:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Crystal Lake. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, River Grove.
