Crystal Lake, Illinois,Marian Bruce, of Crystal Lake, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She will be remembered as an amazing artist who was very active in her church. She served on the Board of Trustees for the Fox River Country Day School, where she was former past President, and was Human Resource Manager for AT&T/Ameritech for more than 30 years. Beloved wife of Dick Hardin, loving mother of Jennifer (Stephen) Reitmeister and Robert Bruce (Kathryn Christensen) Hardin, dear grandmother of Sarah and Amanda Reitmeister, and Ella and Evan Hardin, and cherished niece of Robert Bruce. She was preceded in death by her parents Austin and Jane (nee Ogborn) Bruce and her sister, Bobbe Bruce. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at the Fox River Country Day School, 1600 Dundee Ave., Elgin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fox River Country Day School, 1600 Dundee Ave., Elgin, IL 60120 or First Church of Christ Scientist, 431 W. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
