Marian “Anne” I. Branstrator, a longtime resident of Barrington, passed away peacefully with her son and daughter by her side on April 20, 2018 in Barrington of complications from pneumonia. She was born on February 10, 1935 in Fort Wayne, IN to Karl and Marian (nee Mears) Beierlein.
A dear wife, mother, grammy, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin and friend, Anne was loved by many. She enjoyed reading, the company of others, shopping with her daughter, the outdoors, camping, canoeing, swimming, traveling and taking in the sights and sounds of nature. Anne loved animals, especially birds and her beloved pugs.
Anne was a graduate of Northside High School in Fort Wayne, IN and the University of Miami in Oxford, OH where she received a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. On June 28, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donn P. Branstrator in Fort Wayne, IN; they celebrated 48 joyful years until his passing in 2006.
Anne was a teacher in the Barrington School District and also at the Hillside School in Barrington. She was an active member of many organizations including PEO and the Natural History Society. Anne was also an honorary member of the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club.
Anne will be deeply missed by her loving children, Janet (Thomas) Gardner of Chicago and Donn K. (Stacy) Branstrator of Duluth, MN; her cherished grandchildren, Sydney, Cash and Mason; and by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
