Marie C. Meyers

Marie C. Meyers, 54, of Crystal Lake, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in Huntley. She was born December 7, 1962 in Chicago to Valentino and Mary Anne (nee Mayor) Ancheta.

Marie graduated from Algoma High School in 1981 and The University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1986.

She was a fierce and devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend who loved being involved in her children’s extracurricular activities, serving as team mom and their #1 fan at sporting events, musicals, and throughout their academics. Marie supported the learning and development of special education students at Indian Prairie Elementary School. She had a passion for music, was a talented pianist and singer, and was able to express her love for music as a member of the Chicagoland Voices adult choir. Marie’s selflessness radiated throughout all aspects of her life; she cared for everyone as her own and her love and generosity will be greatly missed.

Marie is survived by her husband, Michael Meyers; her children, Marissa (R.J.) Meyer, Ali (fiancé, Danny Byrne) Meyers, Katie Meyers, Nicole Meyers, and Matthew Meyers; her mother, Mary Anne Ancheta; and her siblings, Dawne (Ron) Both, Jennifer (fiancé, Mike James) Ancheta, Michael (Shelley) Ancheta, and Robert (Tracy) Ancheta.

She is preceded in death by her father, Dr. Valentino Ancheta.

The family will receive guests from 2pm until time of prayer service at 8pm, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake. Burial will take place at 11am, Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the National Center for Learning Disabilities.
