Marietta Holtz

Marietta ‘Rita’ R. Holtz, 88, of Sarasota, FL, and formerly of Cary, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Florida.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, IL on January 19, 1926 to the late George and Josephene (Brown) Williams. She lived in Florida with her son Ralph, Jr. and Ray McGough.

Rita is survived by her sons, Ralph, Jr. of Sarasota, Michael (Jacqualyn) of Cary, and Christopher (Laura) of Reno, NV; daughter-in-law Carole (the late James Holtz) of Bristol, CT; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ralph F. Holtz and son James.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, from 6pm to 8pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake. The visitation will continue on Saturday, January 10 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 410 N First St, Cary from 9am until the Mass of Christian Burial is celebrated at 10am. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
