Marilyn Hobbs

Marilyn A. Hobbs (nee Reinhart), age 90, of Lake Barrington IL, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 14th, 2025.

Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 27th, 1934. She gave birth to her two children while living in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early sixties with her husband David G. Sullivan. The family moved to Chicago, IL, in 1964 where the children were raised.

Marilyn had a successful career in Employee Benefits, starting out as a claims processor and advancing to a Vice President position at City Products Corp/Household Merchandising in Des Plaines, IL. Retiring as Principal Consultant for Towers Perrin in Chicago, IL.

Anyone who knew Marilyn admired her for her fearless determination, kind, graceful demeanor, and as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Kathleen M. Moody and David P. Sullivan, grandchildren Meghan (Dave) Christianer, Grant Moody and Patrick (Amber) Moody, with great grandchildren Jeffery, Mary, Daniel and Freya Christianer, and Aurora Moody. As well as her step children Kent Hobbs, Brian (Sandy) Hobbs, David Hobbs, Steve Doyle, Celinda Doyle, Elizabeth Doyle, Kevin Doyle and Teresa (Rob) Drake.

She is preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Robert Reinhart and Frederic Reinhart, husbands Richard Doyle and Lyle Hobbs as well as step daughter-in-law Julie Hobbs.

A memorial service will be held on April 12th at 11:00 am at The First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake ( IL). In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s name may be made to the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program, Larimer Humane Society or any local food bank.
