A celebration of life service for Marion L. Hubbard (nee Levering),82, will be held Saturday, July 9 at 2:00 PM, at Salem United Methodist Church in Barrington. Please wear colorful or Hawaiian attire.
Born November 24,1928, in Rochester, New York, she passed away peacefully Monday, June 27,2011, at her home at the Garlands surrounded by her family.
Marion was a graduate of the University of Rochester and a member of the Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA), League of Women Voters, Barrington Area Council on Governments (BACOG), St. Paul United Church of Christ, Barrington, Barrington Park District,
and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, FISH, Good Shepherd Hospital, Fairhaven Homeowners Association, an active member at the Garlands with the Arthritis Foundation, and was a lifelong learner and activist.
Survivors include her children, Barb (Michael) Condill, Bob (Linda) Hubbard, Steve (Barb) Hubbard, and Carol (Stan Iglehart) Kohout; 10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Kate MacMullin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert B. Hubbard, whom she married June 18, 1949 in Haddonfield, NJ; parents John Albert and Marion Orphy (nee Henkell) Levering; a son-in-law, Edward J. Kohout; and a brother-in-law, Robert MacMullin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Hubbard’s name may be made to the Barrington Area Council on Aging, 6000 Garlands Ln., Ste. 100, Barrington, IL 60010, Salem United Methodist Church, 115 W.
