Crystal Lake, Illinois,MARION A. UMLAND Marion Magill Umland (nee Teas), 92 of Crystal Lake, IL passed away Thursday January 13, 2011 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Crystal Lake. She was born April 2, 1918 in Sheridan, Iowa. She was a twin and one of six children of Bert and Audrey (Cowan) Teas. The family lived in Streator, IL and after her marriage she lived in many places, finally settling in Lancaster, Ohio. For many years she worked at the Ohio State University Dairy in Columbus as an office manager and bookkeeper. She loved gardening, crafts, infants, and animals. She was known for her inquisitive nature and was compassionate and caring and truly part of the "greatest" generation. Marion was preceded in death by her first husband Leonard Magill and second husband Richard Umland; an infant daughter, Patricia Jane Magill; parents Bert and Audrey Teas; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Garth (Elsie) Teas, Ardyth (Bruce) Jones, her twin Martha (Robert) Smith, Robert Teas (killed in a Japanese Prisoner of War Camp in WWII), and Richard (Janice) Teas; and a nephew, Robert Gordon Smith. She is survived by her children Kenneth (Sandy) Magill of Caseyville, IL, Leonard Magill of League City, TX, Sherry (Doyle) Green of Crystal Lake, IL, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four nieces, one nephew, and several great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00p.m. Saturday January 22 at First United Methodist Church, 3717 West Main St, McHenry, IL 60050. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marion?s name to the First United Methodist Church in McHenry, IL.
