Mariquita L. Thomas

Mariquita Lauretta Thomas, 86, of Fountain Hills, AZ and Lake Barrington, IL passed away peacefully on February 16, 2018. She was born on November 24, 1931 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada to John and Sophia (nee Spanier) Loster.

On November 15, 1958, Mariquita was united in marriage to Gerald Thomas in Chicago. They celebrated 38 years of marriage until his death in 1997. Mariquita cherished her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, puzzles and a good game of Scrabble.

Mariquita will be deeply missed by her loving sons, John (Diane), Dean (Christy), Barry (Ursula) and Jim (Nancy) Thomas; grandchildren, Sara, John, Dylan, Owen, Kelsey, Courtney, Adam, Melissa, Michael, Carly and Joey Thomas; siblings, Felice Bennett, Wayne (Patsy), Cleo (Georgina) and Gerald (Olga) Loster; and by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and by 7 siblings.

Services and interment were private.
