Barrington, Illinois,The memorial service for Marjorie A. Gilly (nee Stoeckel), 86, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 9, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington, IL 60010. The Reverend Jeanne Hanson will officiate. Inurnment will be private. Born November 13, 1923, in Palatine, Mrs. Gilly passed away Monday, September 20,2010, at Alden Estates of Barrington. Mrs. Gilly enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and daily crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Charles; children, Nancy (Fred) Voras of Barrington, Glenn of Schaumburg, Chuck (Jean) of Barrington, Gordon (Holly) of St. Joseph, Ill., and Ellen (Tom) Johnson of McHenry; grandchildren, Jillian (Ryan) Carrell, Corinne (Michael) Baker, Jody (Brendan) Stafford, Kristy (Jason) Hart, Katie, Travis (Lauren), Erik, Ben, Merry and Sam Gilly, and Derek Johnson; and great-grandchildren, William, Joshua, Madeline, Emily, and Brayden (expected in December). She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Stoeckel and Anna Tesch; step-father, Fred Tesch; and sister, Lorraine Hoggay. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Gilly?s name may be made to the St. Paul United Church of Christ Elevator Fund or the Hospice Foundation of Northeastern Illinois, Attn: Michael Lupo, 405 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.
