Mark Menke
March 15, 1951 — June 28, 2016
Mark was born March 15, 1951 in Elgin, IL to Harold and Betty Niss. He passed away peacefully on June 28, 2016 in Woodstock, IL.
Mark was a beautiful soul and had a wonderful sense of humor. His strength was unparalleled as he fought liver cancer for over a year.
He was employed at Boltswitch for over 25 years until his retirement in 2015. During his leisure time he enjoyed collecting model cars, listening to a variety of music, and spending time with family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife of 40 years, Julie (nee Humphrey); children, Dana Mays, Bryan Menke, and Kyle Menke; brother, Scott (Cinda) Menke; sister, Charlotte (Lee) Eskildsen; brother-in-law, Charles (Maryann) Humphrey, sister in law, Nancy Haskins; and nephews, Zack Haskins, and Josh Menke; and niece, Laura Menke.
Marks family would like to thank the family, friends, and neighbors that lent support and strength during Mark’s battle with cancer.
Memorial visitation will be held from 2pm until the time of the memorial service at 4pm, Saturday, July 2 at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave (Route 176), Crystal Lake.
