Mark A. Wruck

Mark A. Wruck, 87, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully on April 1, 2022.  He was born in Chicago on January 18, 1935 to Albert and Suzanne (nee Wood) Wruck.

Mark met the love of his life, Barbara, at Bruno’s Pizza in Chicago.  They married October 6, 1956, at St. Mel’s Church in Chicago; celebrating almost 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2018. He was a proud Navy veteran with a rating of parachute rigger.

The anchor of Mark’s life was his big family.  He was a true “MacGyver” with a unique ability to plan, organize and build a wide range of projects. He was a successful and accomplished commercial artist, with keen interests in modeling, Roman history, science and philosophy.

He will be greatly missed by his children, Marc (Pam), Eric, Laura (David) Waldriff, Linda Beeler, Jennifer (Ken) Bartels, Barbara (Chris) Thometz, and Matthew (Nicole); grandchildren, Amy (Doug), Josh (Sara), Kelly James (Amanda), Seth (Daniele), Erin (Neil), Hillary (Chris), Kate, Hank, Ruby, Anna, and Jack; and great grandchildren, Berkeley, Lochlann, Clint, Nolan, Hazel, Ellis, Rowyn, Conall, and Isla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Suzanne; his wife, Barbara; and his son-in-law, Tom Beeler.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 11th, at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
