Marken Gerhardt (nee Frazier), 73, of Crystal Lake, passed away on December 20, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born April 7, 1943, in Lubbock, TX, to Kenneth and Mary (Cooper) Frazier.
After growing up in Texas, she graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, MO, with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. While there, she met her husband, Paul, and they were married in 1964.
Marken, a 38-year resident of Crystal Lake who also previously lived in Michigan and West Germany, was a member of AAUW, the DAR, a world traveler, accomplished amateur photographer, active in multiple book clubs and dining groups, and so much more.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Paul C. Gerhardt, Jr.; daughters, Michelle (Brian) Pappaducas, Kathy (Jon) McCarthy and son, Eric (Dawn) Gerhardt; grandchildren, Nikolos Pappaducas, Ella, Anslee and Cailyn Gerhardt; brother, Ken (Charlotte) Frazier, sisters-in-law, Margie Frazier and Mitzi (Jack) Davis; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; father, Kenneth; and brother, John Frazier Sr.
A “Celebration of Life” will take place at Davenport Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave (IL Rt. 176), Crystal Lake, on February 11 from 1pm-5pm with an informal service the last half hour.
