Marsha Lanza

Born August 19, 1955 in Rochester, NY, the daughter of Arthur and Arline (nee Schwartz) Munns, she passed away April 11, 2016 at her home in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Marsha was a dedicated parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Crystal Lake and formerly at St. Anthony’s Parish in Manteca, CA as an Adornment Committee Member. Being an avid quilter and sewer she was a California State Fair Golden Bear Recipient for French Heirloom Sewing Christening Gown. Marsha also enjoyed playing the piano, flute, and hand bells, and baking with her grandchildren. Most of all she was gifted in being the best mom and grandma possible.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Michael P. Lanza, whom she married July 11, 1981 in Plaistow, NH; her loving children, Danny, Brian, Andrew, and Michael Lanza and Jeff Gibson; her cherished grandchildren, Luke, Aiden, Gabriel, and Benjamin Gibson; her siblings, Arthur Munns and Deborah (Lawrence) Hussey; and other family, Carol Schwartz, Rose, Mark, and Peter Lanza.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons, Matthew Gibson and David Lanza; and in-laws, Peter and Elodia Lanza.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 14 from 5-8 p.m. with a funeral service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.

Additional services for Marsha will be held in her hometown, Plaistow, New Hampshire. Visitation will take place Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 2 - 5 p.m. at Brookside Chapel and Funeral Home, 116 Main St. Plaistow, New Hampshire 03865. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8 Atkinson Depot Rd., Plaistow. Interment will follow at Holy Angels Cemetery.
